Senegalese exports : training for capacity reinforcement of the body of advisers
The Senegalese Agency for Exports Promotion (ASEPEX), held Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Hotel Teranga in Dakar, from 9:00, in partnership with the Dutch Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing countries (CBI) a training seminar which is part of the implementation of the supporting program to the organizational development (Business Support Organizational Development / BSOD).
The overall goal of the training is to strengthen the existing body of exports advisers by experts in the horticulture sector so they can accompany ASEPEX, particularly companies in enhancing their technical skills for the better positioning of agricultural products on the market of the European Union The seminar was opened by Mr. Amadou Niang, Minister of Trade.
Overall, the supporting program for organizational development (Business Support Organizational Development / BSOD) is aiming at strengthening ASEPEX’s human and institutional capacity, trade support institutions (IAC), advisors and export businesses, to develop the Senegalese exports to the EU market.
This program includes, among others, a "Training of Trainers" component, which consists in developing a local expertise to train, advise and guide the exporting companies in their activities.
As such, a first phase which started in 2007 had allowed the formation of twenty consultants in companies’ competitiveness.
As part of the continuation of the implementation of the program BSOD, ASEPEX selected seven candidates specialized in the field of horticulture to benefit from the "training of trainers ".
The expected results at the end of this first training session are : - skills of trainers in export marketing planning, economic and business intelligence, and the conditions of access to markets are strengthened ; - trainers have strengthened their teaching skills ; - Companies with high export potential are selected to receive the support of trainers who will put into practice the knowledge acquired during the training. The Trainees are the seven consultants selected by ASEPEX and CBI, and human resources. About ten people should receive training.
